Yves Dubeau

Was born in Auxerre in 1943.

From an early age he was bathed in a climate where art had a constant presence.

After classical studies, Dubeau became an apprentice to a medieval statuary restorer. It was here that Dubeau developed his signature style for creating colorful sculptures, which were inspired by scenes from everyday life.

The uniqueness of Dubeau’s work can be found in his process and choice of materials in which he high-fires recycled enameled metal ware. From his numerous stockpiles of throw-away everyday objects: saucepans, pots, jugs, coffee pots, teapots- Dubeau cuts, folds, and sculpts what is ultimately a fantastic work of art.
